A new article by PhD student Mania Borzenko and the project’s head Miri Yemini “Activism on a leash: national education policies’ framing of youth activism in Australia, England and the United States” has been published in Comparative Education. Through analysis of 31 policy documents from Australia, England, and the United States, the study reveals how national education policies systematically constrain youth activism. The research shows that policies privilege service-oriented participation over political action, marginalizing contentious activism like protests and strikes while promoting depoliticized, institution-friendly engagement.
