We’re excited to share that our lab played a significant role in the first-ever Israeli Conference on Educational Research (ICER), which took place from October 15 to 17, 2025, as a biennial event designed to showcase high-quality research and foster interdisciplinary dialogue in educational research. Our lab head, Professor Miri Yemini, served as Chair of the Organizing Committee for this landmark conference, helping to establish what promises to become a cornerstone event for Israel’s educational research community.
The conference brought together researchers from colleges and universities across Israel, creating a shared professional space for dialogue between researchers, policy makers, administrators, teachers, and the informal education community. People&Planet Lab researcher Tanya Khavenson presented her research on self-presentation patterns of young activists on social media on the global-local continuum, prepared in collaboration with PhD student Nadia Iankelevich. During the poster session, PhD students Mania Borzenko and Margarita Kiryushina presented their research posters on their theses’ topics.
As Marrarita noted, “For me as the new repatriant, it was wonderful to integrate into the Israeli research community, connect with colleagues, and be part of this important initiative.”
