Tanya Khavenson’s presentation at ESERA-2025

2 Sep 2025

People&Planet Lab researcher Tanya Khavenson recently presented at the 16th Conference of the European Science Education Research Association (ESERA) in Copenhagen. The study titled “Bridging the Civic and Science Education: Analyzing the Repertoire of Youth Environmental Activism on Social Media” (prepared by Tanya Khavenson, Miri Yemini, Nadezda Yankelevich) examines how young environmental activists across five countries use platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and X to address climate challenges, revealing valuable insights into how their digital activism could be integrated into formal K-12 education. This research represents an important step toward understanding how social media can serve as a bridge between youth civic engagement and science education, offering new pathways for meaningful climate education in schools.
