STUDACT project reaches thousands at “Science is Wonderful!” fair

17.03.2025

The STUDACT research team, represented by Prof. Dr. Miri Yemini, Dr. Martyna Elerian, and PhD student Margarita Kiryushina, engaged with over 4,500 school students during the “Science is Wonderful!” event held on February 13-14, 2025, in Tervuren, Belgium.

Our interactive booth, “Make the World a Better Place – Get Involved!”, invited visitors to explore the world of youth activism through engaging presentations, an interactive role-play computer game, and creative activities. Students particularly enjoyed designing advocacy posters and banners for causes they care about, putting into practice the concepts of civic engagement and social action that are central to our research.

The enthusiastic response from students and educators alike provided valuable insights for our ongoing work and demonstrated the genuine interest young people have in becoming agents of social change. The event offered an excellent opportunity to connect directly with one of our key stakeholder groups and share the importance of youth activism research in an accessible, engaging format.
