Gustavo E. Fischman is a professor of educational policy and comparative education and Director of Scholarly Communications at the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, Arizona State University. His research explores issues about Open Science; scholarly communications; global citizenship education, and sustainability.

His overall goal is to contribute to understanding and improving the processes of knowledge production and exchange between scholars, educators, activists, practitioners, administrators, media workers, policymakers, and the broader public. Currently, he is collaborating on projects related to understanding how universities are responding to the planetary crisis and using Open Science models of inquiry and assessment.
